Fernando Briones


He began his musical studies as guitarrist at A Coruña Music Sup. Conservatory and later composition, piano and conducting at ESMUC (Barcelona). He was part of the Galicia Symphony Orchestra (OSG) project. Currently he is titular of the Gaos Orchestra and Chorus (A Coruña) from the founding (2009) combined as conducting teacher in the A Coruña Music Sup. Conservatory and piano accompanist of Borja Quiza baritone.

With the Gaos Orquesta he has accompanied many soloists (Cristina Gallardo-Dômas, Ainhoa Arteta, Borja Quiza, Celso Albelo, Mariola Cantarero, Juan Jesús Rodríguez y Francisco Corujo). The Gaos Choir receives the 1st Prize in the "Antonio Jose" contest at Burgos (2014) and 2nd Prize at the "Villa de Avilés" (2015). In 2014 he conducted the world premiere of two works by Simon Garcia composer under the BASS2014 International Festival held in Amsterdam. As guest, he conducted the Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra and the Taipei Chinese Orchestra, in the 2015 TCO International Conducting Competition held in Taipei (Taiwan). In 2016 he was performing with the Pontevedra Philharmonic Orchestra at New Year's traditional concert.
